“Education is all a matter of building bridges.” - Ralph Ellison
The Kindergarten programmes seek to build upon the spiritual intelligence, creativity and joy of discovery in every child in order that they allow the spiritually positive development of each child’s potential in the formative years. The philosophy is to provide a nurturing, secure and positive educational environment so that each child will be cherished and encouraged as we celebrate every step of growth and achievement in his or her own unique way.
Curriculum is designed to actively involve students to “turn on” the eight multiple-intelligences found within each child; Linguistically-Intelligent, Logically and Mathematically-Intelligent, Naturalistically-Intelligent, Spatially-Intelligent, Bodily-Intelligent, Musically-Intelligent, Socially-Intelligent, Intra-personally-Intelligent and Spiritually-Intelligent.
The curriculum encompasses Islam, Physical Education, English, Phonic, Basic Math, Science Projects, Specialist Subjects and Reading. Interesting and challenging resources are provided to help children explore, observe, imitate, role-play, self-discover, manipulate and direct their life experience. The learning processes and activities encourage students to be an independent learner, a risk-taker and a problem solver.
Indoor and outdoor plays are programmed and encouraged to train children to use the environment around them to solve problems in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. The classrooms are well maintained and secured.
The teachers use a variety of teaching approaches including Montessori, Beyond Centre and Circle Time (BCCT), Total Physical Response (TPR), Songs, Storytelling and Games. Various teaching strategies such as individual, pair, small and whole group activities, a balance between structured and non-structured experiences as well as provisions for quiet time are used to cater to all learning styles and development levels.
While respecting the student’s first language and encouraging the practice of Arabic, KHALIFA IMS BINTARO are committed to reinforce the use of English on the school premises as the social language and language of instruction.
